To Be
5:19 PMMolding, kneading, squeezing. Playing with fire, with temper at times. Other times, it will be like swimming amidst a peaceful river. A tough love. A love that looks into the future, that thinks about long term consequences, that hopes for the best even in the muddy currents of life. One of my supervisors said that she was once described as a punch in a soft velvet glove. Dedication. Trusting in someone's potential when the whole world denies them. One of the many wonders of relationships. To believe in someone when they don't believe in themselves. To speak on behalf of someone when their voice is not heard. To give when there's nothing to receive. A present. Presence. My presence. Sometimes, just to be is no longer fulfilling. Instead, to be for another, with another. Witnessing a genuine friendship might just be the most beautiful sight on earth. A treasure. A joy that cannot be stolen. A memory that is everlasting. An envy.
